The kit
What is inside the New Zealand kit?

A journey through New Zealand in five parts. Arrival, The Land, The People, Your Turn, and Farewell. Around forty pages in each workbook, illustrated entirely by hand in watercolour.

Along the way your child meets the kiwi, learns to say kia ora, discovers the marae, counts sheep on the green hills, and finds out why some birds in New Zealand never learned to fly. There are colouring pages, tracing, a maze, drawing pages, and at the end, a letter to write back to Pip.

Every animal introduced gets its own colouring page. That is a rule we keep in every kit.

Why are there two workbooks?

Because a three year old and a seven year old need different things. One workbook is for ages 3 to 5, read together with a grown up, with tracing and pointing and colouring. The other is for ages 5 to 7, written for the child to read themselves, with real facts, writing lines, and thinking questions.

Both come with every purchase. Open the one that suits your child right now. The other one is waiting for when they grow into it.

Pip noticed that a four year old and a seven year old want very different things from the same country.

What age is this for?

Ages 3 to 7. The 3 to 5 workbook is read aloud by a grown up. The 5 to 7 workbook is read by the child. If your child is five, look at both and choose the better fit.

My child is two. Is it too early?

You are welcome to buy it now. Many of the pages work beautifully as a story you read aloud, and a two year old will happily colour a kiwi without knowing what a kiwi is.

But we would gently say wait until three for the concepts to really land. The kit is yours forever, so there is no hurry.

My child is eight. Is it too late?

The 5 to 7 workbook still holds a lot for an eight year old, particularly the Māori language pages, the writing prompts, and the bird pages. It is aimed a little younger, so they may move through it faster. Some eight year olds love it. You know your child best.

What will my child actually learn?

Real things. Where New Zealand is and how far away that is. That it is made of two islands. That it has another name, Aotearoa, the land of the long white cloud.

Five native animals including the kiwi, the little blue penguin and the tuatara. Who the Māori people are and how they arrived. Real Māori words they can say out loud: kia ora, whānau, kai, moana, aroha, pounamu, marae.

What people eat there. Why there are more sheep than people. What a glacier is, and a geyser. By the last page they will genuinely know the country, not just have been entertained by it.

Choosing an edition
What is the difference between the three editions?

Explorer Edition, ₹799. The digital kit. Both workbooks as PDF files, ready to print at home.

Collector's Edition, ₹1,799. One hand assembled hardbound book, your choice of the 3 to 5 or the 5 to 7 workbook, plus both digital files.

Family Collector's Bundle, ₹2,999. Both hardbound books, plus both digital files. The complete collection.

Every edition includes Pip's welcome postcard and letter by post.

Which should I choose?

If you are happy printing at home and want to begin today, the Explorer Edition. If you want something your child can keep on a shelf and come back to, the Collector's Edition.

If you have children in both age bands, or you want the whole thing as a gift that lasts years, the Family Collector's Bundle.

Do you ever run discounts or sales?

No. Not at launch, not at festivals, not ever.

We would rather price the kit fairly from the start than mark it up and take it down again. Nobody who buys from us pays more than anybody else, and nobody who waits gets rewarded for waiting.

The digital kit
How do I receive the files?

They arrive by email the moment your order is complete. Two files, clearly named, one for each age band. Download them and print whenever you are ready.

How long can I download them for?

The kit is yours forever.

If a link ever stops working, or you change devices, or the email disappears into a folder you cannot find, write to us at hello@tinyvoyageurs.com and we will send the files again.

What paper should I print on?

Normal printer paper is completely fine. If you have thicker paper and want the colouring pages to feel a little more special, use it, but nothing is required. The kit is designed to be printed at home on an ordinary printer.

Do I have to print all forty pages at once?

Please do not. Print a few pages for today and more another day. The kit is built to be moved through slowly, over weeks, not finished in one afternoon.

Pip noticed that a country is better discovered slowly.

Can I print it again for my other children?

Yes. One purchase covers your own family, so print it as many times as you need for your own children.

Can I print it for my classroom?

Not on a single family purchase. A classroom needs a school licence, which is a different thing and priced differently.

Write to us at hello@tinyvoyageurs.com and we will sort it out properly with you.

The hardbound book
What is the hardbound book made of?

100gsm matte paper, printed in full colour. A hardboard cover wrapped in printed paper with a soft touch matte finish. Wire binding so the book lies completely flat when it is open.

That last part matters more than it sounds. A child colouring needs both hands free and a page that stays where it is put.

How long does it take to arrive?

Two to three weeks. Each one is assembled by hand in small numbers, and we would rather take the time than rush it.

Your digital files arrive immediately, so your child can begin while the book is being made. We will write to you when it is on its way.

Do you ship the hardbound outside India?

Not through the website at the moment. The hardbound editions ship within India only for now.

If you are outside India and want a physical copy, write to us at hello@tinyvoyageurs.com and we will see what we can arrange. The digital kit is available anywhere.

What currency do you charge in?

Everything is priced in Indian rupees and paid through Cashfree.

Pip
What does 'Pip writes back' actually mean?

It means exactly what it says. Every purchase includes a welcome postcard and a letter from Pip, sent by post to your child, hand addressed, with their name on it.

When your child is ready, they write or draw on the postcard and send it back. Photograph it and email it to pip@tinyvoyageurs.com, or post the card back to the address printed inside.

Then Pip writes back to them. Not a template. A real reply, with one specific thing Pip noticed about what your child made.

Pip noticed that a child who is written to properly remembers it for a very long time.

How long does Pip take to reply?

Within 48 hours, usually sooner. Pip is small but reliable.

Does Pip reply by post or by email?

The first letter comes by post. After that, Pip replies by email.

We are working on something for the future that brings more of Pip's letters back into the post, properly, as a ritual. When it is ready, you will be the first to know.

Can my child keep writing to Pip?

Yes. As often as they like. Pip keeps a record of every child who writes, so the next letter can pick up where the last one left off.

Gifting
Can I buy this for a child who is not mine?

Yes, and many people do. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, family friends.

The child is always the one the kit is made for. The person buying it can be anyone who loves them.

Whose address should I enter at checkout?

The address where the child is, so Pip's postcard and letter reach them directly. If you would rather everything came to you first, use your own address instead.

I entered the wrong address

Write to us at hello@tinyvoyageurs.com within 24 hours of ordering and we will change it. After that, things may already be on their way.

Orders
Do you offer refunds?

No. Because the digital files are delivered immediately and cannot be returned once they are downloaded, and the hardbound books are made by hand to order, all sales are final.

If something arrives damaged, or a file will not open, or anything at all has gone wrong, write to us at hello@tinyvoyageurs.com. We will make it right.

Do you take school or bulk orders?

Yes. Write to us at hello@tinyvoyageurs.com with what you have in mind and we will put something together for you.

What comes next
Which country is next?

More countries are coming. We are not saying which yet.

Pip's bag is emptied out and packed again for every journey, and the window in the Reading Nook changes each time. When the view changes, we will tell you.

Will the format stay the same?

Yes. Five phases, two workbooks, every animal with its own colouring page, and Pip collecting small things along the way. Once your child knows how a Tiny Voyageurs kit works, every country after this one feels familiar.
